Grotto’s was founded by a Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania native, who spent summers making pizzas at his family’s pizza restaurant — Joe’s Pizza — at Harvey’s Lake in PA. Actually, it was at this summer spot where my parents (as kids!) first tasted the legendary recipe that eventually became Grotto’s in 1960 in Delaware.
The best pizza on earth: Grotto Pizza
I love that Katrina calls this the best pizza on earth. Grottos is such a Delaware thing, and a late-night UD thing. Grottos bar is always crowded—I’m excited to go when I finally turn twenty one (six months!).
